This neodymium magnetic block has a length of 6mm, width of 3mm and a height of 2mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 6695 Gauss and a pull force of 0.654 kilos. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number B-W3H2L6-N48.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

This rectangular Rare Earth Permanent magnet has tiny proportions but has been magnetised in relatively powerful N48 magnetic grade that amplifies its magnetic field and greatly increases its holding capabilities. Small block magnets are popular with scale model enthusiasts, inventors and people who wish to make unique fashion or decorative products from home. The flat pole areas provide a sturdy bond with metal surfaces. Small, powerful Neodymium blocks are also used as important components in high-tech consumer products and have been highly influential in the design and operation of modern electronic goods. Speaker and microphone technology in Smartphones, digital Audiovisual equipment, sensors and warning systems use small, powerful and highly sensitive block magnets to enhance performance and reduce their weight and size.
The magnetic field of this magnet passes through the 6mm x 3mm flat surfaces with a North pole on one side and South on the opposite side. These fields can bond with ferrous material and detect electromagnetic or other permanent magnet fields. In the case of electric motors and audio equipment, they can transform electricity into mechanical power or transfer sound waves into an electrical signal for both amplification and recording purposes.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
